Friday, it's you again!

Hi friends, we had a lovely anniversary day/evening, despite the few hiccups that are bound to happen every once in a while. Lee had planned to take me to our favorite restaurant last night. We called to make a reservation Wednesday, and they said they were booked, much to our disappointment. We decided that we could have just a good of time celebrating on Friday night, so we made the reservation for then. Well, yesterday, they called and said they worked us in! Three cheers for that! I rushed home from getting my hair done, threw on a dress and jewelry, touched up my makeup, and kissed my husband thank you for the 2 dozen red roses he had sitting on the table for me, and zipped out the door. I guess the part where my husband said that he left his keys in the car earlier that day didn't register with me. A locked car I might add. I had left my everyday purse sitting on the bed, and traded it for a much smaller clutch, perfect for an evening out. My set of keys was not in that clutch. We shut the door and walk towards the car. Then it hits us. We are locked out of our car. We are also locked out of our house! Both of which we've never done the whole 3 years we've been married! Why now, of all times???

While we could have gotten all bent out of shape and mad at each other (we started to for a minute), we stopped and realized that sometimes whatever can go wrong, does go wrong, and at the worst possible time. BUT, we weren't gonna let that spoil our anniversary night. We were gonna get to that reservation if it was the last thing we did. While my husband contemplated breaking a house window, I reminded him that our apartment managers probably wouldn't appreciate that since they just replaced ALL the windows in the 100 year old house we call home. Our spare key turned into one of our brother's house keys and was never replaced. What were we to do?! We had one cell phone that was very low on battery. Lee decided to call a cab. I thought it was a crazy idea, but it turned out to be the perfect solution to our problem. Seven dollars and 10 minutes later, we were at the restaurant, sitting at our table, getting ready to order. We were/are also so lucky that Lee has such a wonderfully nice Mother, who drove 30 minutes to and a from our house to drop off her key, so we could get in after we got back from dinner. The night turned out great. We got back from dinner, popped in our wedding video, and got to relive the best day of our lives. We weren't even a third into the video and we were both crying like babies.

thanks waiter, for the very blurry picture.
waiting for our cab.

Anyways, I'm sure we'll look back on this night and laugh. I already think it's humorous. But on a lighter note, I feel blessed and loved to have what I have.

Hope you all have a fabulous weekend,
Bonte

  3. oh my gosh.. ahahha i've locked myself out 3 times while luke was at work.. and i was supposed to be on my way.. 2 out of the 3 times i climbed through bathroom windows (head first toward the toilet i might add) so frustrating! but calling a cab is kinda fun... feels like you're being escorted! we did that last anniversary.. had a car take us to all our stops uptown and then to our hotel.. it was so fun and we felt fancy. :)
Happy anniversary. seems like just yesterday ;)
